Tight capacity – export ocean freight

At this point, the ocean freight export market is seriously challenged by the tight capacity for containers from Europe to Far East, Middle East and India / Pakistan.

This situation will continue through March and April. USA seems to be the next area with the same tendency.

• A number of carriers offer limited space subject to a premium, but even this scenario is getting more and more difficult to navigate in. A few carriers have announced a full stop for bookings, and we are in ongoing discussion with our partners to maintain our services at the highest possible level.
• GEODIS has assessed our core carriers as well as others, and the picture is similar for all, as the demand for capacity increases dynamically. We definitely see an ongoing upward trend in rates, which will continue with no capacity solution on the short term.
